I like to begin my tours near the River, the cause of it all. I like to stand with my guests and imagine the first explorers coming up river in their sailboats. What did they see then?? No steeple, no square..

What did the Frenchmen see that mesmerized them so much that they would brave and endure so many hardships and toil to bring this wonderful city to life?

As we follow the levee, behind the site of the Old French Market, we are truly on hallowed ground. We pause or rest as does this young lady, reflecting on the labors of the great river and the tenacity of young adventurers.
